I use AI tools to help me write my novels. There is a saying that you should always use the best tools available to do a job. Somehow it would be wrong to write a book about sentient AI characters and not use generative AI to help with the task.

That said, the books are idea driven, and the ideas behind the books are all mine. The ideas behind having sentient AI psychologists and televangelists were my fever dreams.

My process is:

• Come up with the ideas underlying the books,

• Create an detailed outline of the fictional world that the characters live in,

• Use generative AI to help refine the world,

• Write a full chapter by chapter and scene by scene outline for the book and refine it many times,

• Use generative AI to help refine that outline,

• Use generative AI (Claude) to generate the initial draft of the text on a per scene or per chapter basis,

• Read and rewrite every word in each book five or so times,

• Use AI grammar and spell check tools,

• Use generative AI to critique the book as a whole,

• Make many refinements based on that feedback,

• Have human alpha readers read and review the books,

• Make many refinements based on their feedback, and

• Publish.

The two first books together took me eighteen months to write. I really hope that you enjoy them. Please trust me when I say that they come directly from my mind. I have used the best AI tools available to be a mind amplifier, but the stories and the ideas behind the stories come from me.
